The 2007 AGM held on Tuesday 1st of May.
at the Royal British Legion Lower Broughton
the following appointments were made.
Mr I Williams appointed Vice President and Chairman.
R.A Fallon appointed Secretary.
Tony Jennings re appointed as Treasurer.
Haydon Hooper re appointed as Social Secretary.
Jack Dummer re appointed Welfare Officer.
Harry Cooper re appointed to Committee.
Geoff Mills re appointed to Committee.
Mick Cottrell newly appointed to Committee.
We wish them all well in the coming year.
We regret to announce the death of
2624088 W.Preston ( D.Sgt) died on the 13/05/07.
He served in the 1 - 2 - 3 Battalions, was Queens Company CSM
and served as an instructor at Sandhurst.
His funeral will take place at St. Marys Church, Church Ave,
Penwortham, Preston at 13.00 on Thursday 24th May 2007.
Followed by the committal at Lytham Crematorium at 15.00.
The Battalion will return from Afghanistan in September 2007.
God willing without any further casualties.
A Memorial Service will be held for the Grenadier Guards,
who have lost their lives during the conflict,
on 18th October 2007.

Presentation 4th Sept 2007.
To mark the retirement of Mr. Ivor Williams on 10 years
as Secretary of the Manchester Branch.
The Regiment presented a Certificate signed by HRH Prince Phillip, to mark the occasion.
This was presented by the current Secretary
Mr. Bob Fallon at the monthly meeting on behalf of the Regiment and Association.

I live in Manchester and am currenly serving with the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards,
have recenly returned from a tour of Afganistan, As you know, we lost two Grenadiers from Manchester and a number of Grenadiers were seriously injured.
I am taking part in the Flora London Marathon on 13th April 2008, in full kit and carrying 35lbs to raise money for the Charity "Help the Hero's " which gives practical help to servicemen and women injured in Iraq and Afhanistan.

We are sorry to announce the death of Harry Cooper.
Harry has been a stalwart of the Branch for many years.
His dedication to Broughton House and the Grenadier cadets was unstinting.

Hurricane Films is a Liverpool based Production Company.
We are currently involved in a project in conjunction with FACT
(Foundation for Art and Creative Technology),
creating content for their new multimedia ‘My War’ exhibition.
We are looking for contributors who would like to share their experiences of war,
this could include serving in any war or suffering from its effects.
The contributor must be willing to talk about their experiences and memories in front of a camera.
The footage will be used within the exhibition and might also be used
for possible radio/ television
projects in the future.
We will be filming in Manchester are from Monday 6th April until Friday 9th April.
